Mother's day is coming up and I heard this song from the film "daadi ma"....
I still have to find the song as of now....
Hindi Song Title: Usko Nahi Dekha Hamne KabhiHindi Movie/Album Name: DAADI MAA Singer(s): MANNA DE, MAHENDRA KAPOOR
Hindi Lyrics:
us ko nahi dekha hamane kabhi
par isaki zaroorat kya hogi
ai maan, ai maan teri soorat se alag
bhagavaan ki soorat kya hogee, kya hogi
us ko nahi dekha hamane kabhi...
inasaan to kya devata bhi
aanchal mein pale tere
hai svarg isi duniya mein
kadamon ke tale tere
mamata hi lutaaye jisake nayan, hot...
mamata hi lutaaye jisake nayan
aisi koi moorat kya hogi
ai maan, ai maan tere...
kyon dhoop jalaaye dukhon ki
kyon gam ki ghata barase
ye haath duaaon vaale
rahate hain sada sar pe
tu hai to andhere path mein hamen, ho...
tu hai to andhere path mein hamein
sooraj ki zaroorat kya hogi
ai maan, ai maan tere..
kahate hain teri shaan mein jo
koi oonche bol nahi
bhagavaan ke paas bhi maata
tere pyaar ka mol nahi
ham to yahi jaane tujhase badee, ho...
ham to yahi jaane tujhase badi
sansaar ki daulat kya hogi
ai maan, ai maan tere...
about mothers day (adapted from: http://www.holidays.net/mother/story.htm)
The Story of Mother's Day
The earliest Mother's Day celebrations can be traced back to the spring celebrations of ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods.
In the United States Mother's Day was first suggested in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe (who wrote the words to the Battle hymn of the Republic) as a day dedicated to peace. Ms. Howe would hold organized Mother's Day meetings in Boston, Mass ever year.
While many countries of the world celebrate their own Mother's Day at different times throughout the year, there are some countries such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium which also celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May.
The important thing none the less is the feelings and bond that we celebrate with this very precious gift that god has given to us all....
Dearest Mom, I love you... :-)
